MOLDOVA STATE UNIVERSITY
The Moldova State University was founded on October 1, 1946 as the State University of Chisinau. Its creation was a milestone for the development, strengthening and consolidation of the higher education of the country. The MSU is a classic type of institution and its noble mission is to offer qualitative education and training of highly skilled specialists. 5 faculties were opened initially at the State University of Chisinau (Physics and Mathematics, Geology and Soil Science, Biology, Chemistry, History and Philology)
The mission of the Moldova State University is:
training of highly qualified professionals for the national economy, able to work effectively in changing conditions of life and market economy;
organization and development of basic and applied scientific research aimed at solving current socio-economic problems and implementing of the technology transfer of the university research results.

UNIVERSITY OF MONTENEGRO
The University of Montenegro was founded in 1974 representing the oldest higher education institution in Montenegro. The University has over 20.000 students.
It is the largest and the only comprehensive higher education institution in the state comprised of nineteen faculties and two institutes of science.
Since 2004, lessons and exams are organized in accordance with Bologna Declaration principles. The University is organized according to modern European universities. Its seat is in Podgorica, and units and study programs are also located in Niksic, Cetinje, Kotor, Herceg Novi, Bar, Budva, Bijelo Polje and Berane.
The University of Montenegro is a member of European Universities Association (EUA).
Day of the University is celebrated on April 29th since on that day in 1974, the Assembly has been formed that will govern the University in Titograd which is comprised of Faculty of Economics, Technical and Law Faculty, Pedagogy Academy, Higher Maritime School and Instituted of History, Farming and Institute for Biological and Medical Research. A year later, the University changed its name into the University “Veljko Vlahović“, and since 1992 its name has been the University of Montenegro. From Pedagogy Academy, later Teaching Faculty, has been formed the Faculty of Philosophy and 1978 form department of Technical Faculty, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy have been formed. In forthcoming years, the University had been through different periods of reorganization. New university units were formed, so in 1999, 25 years since its foundation, the University was comprised of 13 faculties, 4 independent scientific institutes and one a three-year-school.
UNIVERSITY OF SKOPJE
SS. CYRIL AND METHODIUS UNIVERSITY IN SKOPJIE
The Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje is the first state University in the Republic of Macedonia, founded in 1949, initially with three faculties. At the moment, the University represents a functional community of 23 faculties, 5 research institutes, 4 public scientific institutions – associate members, 1 associate member – other higher education institution and 7 associate members – other organizations. Its activities are stipulated by the Law on Higher Education and the Statute of the University.
The Ss. Cyril and Methodius University develops study programmes in all scientific fields – natural sciences and mathematics, technical and technological sciences, medical sciences and health, biotechnical sciences, social sciences, humanities and arts. Except for the faculties, the research work, also is carried out in the independent research institutes as an integral part of the University.
Nowadays, the illustration of UKIM through figures is as follows: over 60.000 enrolled students from Republic of Macedonia in the first and second cycle of studies, as well as over 700 foreign students. The third cycle – doctoral studies is realized within the School of Doctoral Studies, with a total of 655 students. Over 3.100 teaching, research, associate, as well as administrative staff participate in the realization of the teaching and scientific process at the faculties and institutes.
The University has produced around 150.000 graduated high-professional staff (with obtained Bachelor degree); 10.000 candidates obtained Master’s and Specialist’s degree and around 4.000 candidates obtained the doctoral degree in all teaching and scientific fields.
The overall activities of the University also include sport, artistic, informative, recreational and other activities organized within many associations, clubs etc.
The Ss. Cyril and Methodius University’s mission is to be:
an autonomous, scientific and higher educational university which provides teaching, scholar and applied activities in technical, natural sciences and mathematics, bio-technical, artistic, medical and social sciences;
a university dedicated to the cherishing as well as international recognition of the traditional features and values the Macedonian people (the Macedonian language, history, literature and culture) and at the same time to the nurturing of the cultural values of the other ethnic communities in the Republic of Macedonia;
a university open to all students on the basis of equality and their academic results regardless of their ideological, political, cultural and social origin;
a university that coordinates its academic offer to the needs of the social surrounding, and has continuously dynamic relation towards it;
a university that creates stimulative environment for its employees, providing them a progress of their abilities in order to accomplish its mission;
a university which develops long-life and continuing education;
a university determined to achieve the European norms and standards in all spheres of its activities.
INSTITUTE OF SOCIAL SCIENCES AND HUMANITIES SKOPJE
The Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities, Skopje (ISSHS) is a nonprofit research organization in applied social and humanities studies focusing mainly on multi-issue policy studies. It holds the status of a scientific institution in the fields of social sciences and humanities accorded by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Macedonia (Decision nr. 30). It is also an accredited graduate school offering MA level programs in multi-issue policy studies, cultural studies and gender studies. The Institute holds an Erasmus+ charter of Higher Education Institutions in Europe. Its core activities consist in multi–issue policy studies and policy related advocacy and training, coupled with basic research in the social sciences and humanities. Making findings visible and putting them into function that can contribute to positive changes in society is attached to that of policy research: data driven advocacy and awareness raising are part of every policy research activity we undertake. We also provide consultancy and act as multi-issue policy studies think tank.
UNIVERSITY OF MALTA
Lying at the cross-roads of the Mediterranean, UM has been, over its 400-year history, the hub for international academic exchange on the island. UM is the leading higher education institution in Malta and its structures are in line with the Bologna Process and the European Higher Education area.
The University seeks to carry out academic research and provide a vibrant higher education setting in the arts, sciences and the humanities as required for Malta’s economic, social and cultural development. The courses at UM are designed to produce highly-qualified professionals in multiple disciplines. The UM alumni community is growing exponentially: well over 3,500 students graduate in various disciplines annually.
The language of instruction is English and about twelve per cent of the student population is international.
Today UM is composed of fourteen faculties, a number of interdisciplinary institutes and centres, three schools and a junior college. Besides the main campus, situated at Msida, there are three other campuses: Valletta, Marsaxlokk, Gozo.
The mission of the University of Malta is to serve the aspirations of the people of these Islands through locally and globally significant research and provision of higher education of quality in the arts, sciences and the humanities as required for Malta’s economic, social and cultural development, via the scholarship of discovery, teaching and service to the community. These functions shall be delivered in a sustainable manner that is responsive to this country’s present and emergent needs.
