SHAHROOD UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY

Shahrood University of Technology (SUT) was established in 1973 as the first university in Semnan province and currently is the only technological university in the province. SUT currently has 11,000 students and 302 faculty members who are studying and doing scientific research activities in 187 different programs including 43 under graduate, 107 Master and 37 PhD majors.

Shahrood University of Technology is composed of 16 faculties, one E-learning center and four campuses (Pardis) including: 1) Central, 2) Engineering and New Technology, 3) Agricultural Engineering, and 4) Educational Mine.Recently, Shahrood University of Technology was ranked the sixth among 17 technical universities by Islamic World Science Citation Center. Currently, Dr. MohammadMehdi Fateh is the president of Shahrood University of Technology, who is an academic member in the Department of Robotic and Power Engineering.

University Strategies

Education: Education based on research, improving education quality, quantitative expansion based on needs of the country, product and demand oriented.

Research: Solving challenges in the country, moving toward knowledge horizons, demand oriented, new technologies, entrepreneurship and improving university’s scientific rank.

Management: Planning, having specialized committees, responsibility, managing coordination, integrated control, public relation and automation improvement.

Cultural and student affairs: Improving religious beliefs, scientific knowledge, ethics, national unity, being critic and accepting criticism.

UNIVERSIDADE EDUARDO MONDLANE

Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM) is a national public institution, the oldest institution of higher education in Mozambique. It was founded on August 21, 1962, by Decree-Law no. 44530, under the title of General University Studies of Mozambique. In 1968, it ascended to the category of University, being then designated by University of Lourenço Marques. On May 1, 1976, President Samora Moisés Machel attributed to this institution the name Eduardo Mondlane University, in honor of the relevant historical role represented in Mozambique by Dr. Eduardo Chivambo Mondlane. It is also in his honor that the 20th of June, the date of his birth, is celebrated as Eduardo Mondlane University Day.

Eduardo Mondlane University has since assumed the status of a national university, having conceived a policy that guarantees fair access to students from different regions of the country and seeks to maintain and increase the female presence in the institution. It is a public institution of higher education endowed with legal personality enjoying scientific, pedagogical, administrative and financial autonomy. Through EMU, many generations of young people who now carry out functions and activities in the most diverse spheres of society, at government level, social, economic and service sectors, both in Brazil and at international level.

The history of EMU, since its inception, reflects the periods of the country’s history, which influenced and determined the teaching, research and extension process, from the definition of professional profiles at the level of training to the type of research to be undertaken priority.

Today, Eduardo Mondlane University is inserted in a social context of market economy and is present in the provinces of Maputo, Gaza, Inhambane, Zambézia and, through distance education, throughout the country and abroad.

To be national, regional and international reference university in the production and dissemination of scientific knowledge as well as innovation, highlighting research as the foundation of teaching and learning processes, extension and outreach activities.

Mission
Produce and disseminate scientific knowledge and promote innovation through research, extension and outreach activities, while imparting humanistic values onto generations to face contemporary development challenges of the society.

UNIVERSITY OF DAR ES SALAAM

The University of Dar es salaam is the oldest and biggest public university in Tanzania. It is situated on the western side of the city of Dar es salaam, occupying 1,625 acres on the observation hill, 13 kilometers from the city centre.
It was established on 1st July 1970, through parliament act no. 12 of 1970 and all the enabling legal instruments of the constituent colleges. Prior to 1970, the university college, Dar es Salaam had started on 1st July 1961 as an affiliate college of the University of London. It had only one faculty- the faculty of Law, with 13 students.
In 1963 it became a constituent college of the university of East Africa together with Makerere University College in Uganda and Nairobi University College in Kenya. Since 1961, the University of Dar es Salaam has grown in terms of student intake, academic units and academic programmes.
