NUU began its function in 1918 as People’s University. From 1920 university was named Turkistan State University, 1923 Central Asian State University, from 1960 to 2000 it was named as Tashkent State University. On 14 th of September in 1995 according to the decree of Council of Ministries of Uzbekistan university was named after Mirzo Ulugbek.

NUU was first founded not only in Uzbekistan but in whole territory. Scientists and teachers of university greatly contributed to the development of science, education and scientific researches and educational system. Considering above mentioned contributions on 28 of January in 2000 university was claimed as National University of Uzbekistan according to the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Nowadays there are 13 faculties, 45 spheres of bachelor degree, more than 100 spheres of master`s degree. National University of Uzbekistan is a basic university, which is always leader at creating State Educational Standards for universities, model of study plans and adopting them in other Universities.

1180 professors and teachers working now, among them 21 academicians, 200 doctor-professors, 550 candidates and Ph.D, more than 400 senior teachers and assistant teachers. Staffs scientific intellect is directed to the improvement of studies, methodology, scientific researches and cultural-moral affairs.

ACADEMY OF SCIENCES OF UZBEKISTAN

The Republic of Uzbekistan gained independence in 1991 that was the most important event in life of the country, which opened a new stage in its historical development. In accordance with the 1992 Constitution, with a strong commitment to the provisions and conclusions contained in writings and speeches of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Academician Uzbekistan Islam Karimov, the country wages the course of development on the basis of full-scale consolidation of its sovereignty and qualitative renewal of all spheres of political, economic, social, cultural and spiritual life of the people.

Active role in addressing these and other important tasks is to play the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, established in November 1943. Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan has a long history, the attainments creditable to the Academy include hundreds of major achievements in various fields of science. In scientific institutions of the Academy of Sciences, a large group of prominent scientists is working, whose names are known far beyond the borders of Uzbekistan. Based on the objectives set by the state and the significance of science, Academy of Sciences elaborates most important fundamental and applied programs, innovative projects, and participates in in decision-making on defining and development of priority trends of science, determines organizational and structural issues of its subordinate agencies.

Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan performs the following tasks:

– Pursues basic and applied research in the field of natural, technical, medical, social and human sciences, thereby contributing to the economic, social and spiritual development of society;

– ensures implementation of the state policy in the field of science;

– analyses and examines current problems of development of nature, society and man, development of the relations among nations and national cultures, countries and peoples, education and intellectual and moral values;

– realizes development and practical implementation of new techniques and modern technologies;

– promotes the development of science-intensive industries, exploring the latest advances in science and technology and supports the wide use of them;

– provides training of highly qualified scientific personnel, the necessary conditions for productive creative activities of Uzbek scientists;

– promote effective integration of science, education and industry;

– provides the organization and co-operation with the academies, universities, research institutions, foundations, and other related organizations in foreign countries, as well as with international scientific organizations.

XI’AN INTERNATIONAL STUDIES UNIVERSITY

Founded in 1952, Xi’an International Studies University (referred as theUniversity thereafter) is one of the earliest 4 foreign language institutions established in new China.

Multilayered System in Higher Education
The University has 23 departments/schools and offers 52 undergraduate programs, and master degrees for 4 disciplines in Category I, 53 disciplines in Category II, and 6 professional disciplines, as well as doctoral degrees in one Category I discipline and 13 disciplines in Category II, and one post-doctoral research station. The University recruit`s students from 37 countries and undertakes adult and non-academic education, preparation government-funded overseas study, and enterprises-commissioned training programs. The total enrollment is about 20,000, and among them 18,675 are full-time students.
Key Disciplines
The University now owns one featured program in foreign language and literature (Category I) and 3 key disciplines in Shaanxi Province, such as English language and literature, etc. The University offers 5nationallyfeatured programs including Russian and translation studies. English is a pilot program of national comprehensive reform for academic disciplines. The University now has 5 "brand-name" programs (including German and French, etc.) and 9 featured programs (including Japanese andaccounting, etc.) in Shaanxi Province, and 11 innovative experimental facilities for trainingtalents at both national and provincial level. Foreign language and literature programs ranked seventh nationwide in the third round of disciplinary assessment. The University declared 17 leading programs of Shaanxi Province in 2016.

Mission Statement

SHENYANG NORMAL UNIVERSITY (LIAONING PROVINCE)

Being subordinate to Liaoning Provincial People’s Government, Shenyang Normal University is a comprehensive one covering eight categories like philosophy, economics, law, pedagogy, literature, science, engineering science and management science.

The university is the former Northeastern College of Education which was established in 1951, it was renamed to Shenyang Normal College in 1953 as one of the two earliest undergraduate normal colleges established in the Northeast China at that time. The famous educationist Dong Chuncai, Che Xiangchen and Wu Boxiao had successively taken the post of main leader in the university. It was renamed to Liaoning No. 1 Normal College in 1965 and resumed to Shenyang Normal College in 1978. In 2001, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the Provincial People’s Government decided to combine Shenyang Normal College with Liaoning College of Education to establish Shenyang Normal University.

The university covers an area of 1928mu with building area of 0.758million square kilometers and books collection of 1.800 million. There are 22299 full-time undergraduate and college students, 1656 master postgraduates, 891 education masters and near 320 foreign students. Now our university has cultivated more than 70,000 teachers and other talents having both ability and moral integrity for the country and especially made great contributions to the education career of Liaoning.

Liaoning Provincial Basic Education Teaching and Research Training Center, Liaoning Educational Administration Institute and Liaoning Audio-Visual Education Hall are established in our university. Now there are 22 second colleges including College of Educational Science, College of Foreign Languages, Software College, International Business College, Educational Technology College and College of Dramatic Art, etc. and 12 halls, departments and centers. With 60 undergraduate specialties and 57 master’s degree programs, it is the unit that develops in-service employee applying for master’s degree and master’s degree of education with the same educational level as postgraduates and also the unit that can accept Chinese Government Scholarship students. It has six national and provincial-level key bases, four provincial-level key disciplines and key co-construction disciplines, seven provincial and city-level key laboratories and twelve comprehensive laboratories. And there are 33 research institutions like Institute of Education Economics and Management, Institute of Chinese Culture and Literature, Paleontology Research Institute, Institute of Human Resource Development and Management and Insect Research Institute, etc. and four cooperation bases of enterprise, university and scientific research.

The university currently has 1645 full-time teachers and 14 specially-appointed professors, of which, 2 are academicians of Chinese Academy of Sciences, 244 are professors and 593 are associate professors. Otherwise, many academicians of the two institutes and foreign and domestic experts and scholars who have great scientific attainments are engaged as honorary professors and part-time professors and we also engage 30 foreign teachers. The university has successively signed agreements on international academic exchange and cooperation with over 30 universities and colleges and scientific research institutions of America, England, Canada, Japan, Russia, Belgium, Denmark, Australia and Korea, etc.

SICHUAN UNIVERSITY (SICHUAN PROVINCE)

The Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IGGCAS) was formed in June 1999, through the integration of the Institute of Geology, CAS and the Institute of Geophysics, CAS. In 2004, the Ionosphere Research Room of the Wuhan Institute of Physics and Mathematics, Chinese Academy of Sciences was also integrated into the IGGCAS. Since this integration, IGGCAS has become one of the most important and well known geoscience research institutions in China.

IGGCAS is strategically positioned to "establish a brand new international research center with the qualities of "theoretical innovation, technical development, achievement transformation and sci-education integration”, aiming at global technology front, national vital demands, national economic fields, and the main direction of solid Earth sciences. Original breakthroughs have been made in research on global Earth sciences to develop the theory of Earth sciences. IGGCAS’s focuses are major scientific issues in the fields of national resources, energy and environment, so as to support national strategic needs and serve economic and social development. In recent years, IGGCAS has been committed to the transformation of research concepts, organization structure, management model and innovation systems. From a global perspective, IGGCAS has conducted scientific research on Tethys tectonic domain evolution and energy resource effect, craton destruction and massive metal mineralization, the Earth’s interior structure and process, comparative planetology, and other disciplinary frontier matters, and has achieved important progress. At the same time, IGGCAS focuses on the strategic needs of national resource exploration to conduct integrated research on advanced deep resource exploration technology and independent equipment development with key breakthroughs. At present, IGGCAS has actively implemented the "Pioneering Act” plan of the Chinese Academy of Sciences to construct the "Earth Science Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences”, in part with Guangzhou Institute of Geochemistry, CAS and the Institute of Geochemistry, CAS.
