Founded in 1927, Shibaura Institute of Technology (SIT) has carried on and maintained a commitment to nurturing practical engineers. Kanda University of International Studies (KUIS), founded in 1987, is a private university dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in international studies, particularly in foreign languages, intercultural communication, Japanese culture, linguistics, and global studies. Kansai University is one of the largest and most prestigious private universities in western Japan.
