MEIJI GAKUIN UNIVERSITY

Meiji Gakuin University (MGU), founded in 1863, is one of the oldest Christian institutions in Japan. Located in Tokyo Yokohama with approximately 12,000 students in six faculties, MGU offers the International Student Program (ISP)for foreign university students. ISP provides an opportunity to pursue undergraduate studies pertaining to Japanand the Japanese language, with creative academic environment for a semester or academic year. ISP students can also take elective courses taught in English offered by faculties.

KYOTO INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY

Kyoto, Japan’s capital for 1,000 years, has retained its former atmosphere, charm, and traditions. It is here that Kyoto Institute of Technology has 4,000 students enrolled in biology, materials technology, electronics, information science, mechanical engineering,architecture, and design. Our program was selected as a Ministry of Education Top Global University Project funding recipient. Through this program, we foster interculturally aware leaders in technology and science who will globalize the region and foundations of industry.

INTERNATIONAL CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY

International Christian University (ICU) is a private, four-year liberal arts college in Tokyo’s western suburbs. Founded in 1953, it is distinguished by its international spirit, innovative instructional style, small classes, and bilingual (English and Japanese) curriculum covering 31 majors. ICU is widely admired for its excellent Japanese language programs, and classes are offered from the introductory level to the advanced levels. About 20 percent of the student body lives in one of the on-campus dormitories.

HOKKAIDO UNIVERSITY

Established in 1876, Hokkaido University is one of the oldest, largest, and most prestigious universities in Japan. We cover almost all areas of the humanities and social and natural sciences and as a member of RU-11, a coalition of leading research intensive universities in Japan, we are a leader in research activities in Japan and the world. Hokkaido University emphasizes the practical applications of cutting-edge research in the real world.

NAGASAKI UNIVERSITY

Nagasaki University (NU) is one of the oldest national universities in Japan. NU has recently established the School of Global Humanities and Social Sciences where students are required to take short-term English study programs and a one-semester or yearlong study abroad course. We are looking for overseas partner universities to accept our students and also send students to NU. NU offers Japanese language programs and also courses in English for incoming students.

J.F. OBERLIN UNIVERSITY

Founded more than 90 years ago, J.F. oberlin (JFOU) has four undergraduate colleges and a graduate school with a total student body of 8,700 students. Located in the Tokyo suburbs, JFOU welcomes more than 552 international students from 23 countries as either fully matriculated, one-year, or one-semester students. International students participating in the semester or yearlong program, one of the oldest in Japan, study intensive Japanese and take courses in either English or Chinese.

NANZAN UNIVERSITY

Nanzan University is an excellent place to study Japan. For more than 40 years, the Center for Japanese Studies has been internationally renowned for the quality of its Japanese language and area studies courses. Classes offered in English enable international and Japanese students to study together.
The options of living in a homestay, which is rare in Japan, or in a dormitory with Japanese students, both provide an ideal environment for intercultural communication.

HOSEI UNIVERSITY

Founded in 1880, Hosei University is one of Japan’s leading private universities comprised of 15 undergraduate faculties, 14 graduate schools, and two professional schools. Selected to be one of 37 members of the Top Global University Project, the university now offers various courses conducted in English. international students, anticipated to increase up to 3,000 by 2023, enjoy academic and cultural experiences together with Japanese students in Tokyo.

NAGOYA UNIVERSITY

Located in Nagoya, the third largest metropolis in Japan, Nagoya University is a comprehensive national university with a marked research orientation. Notably, it has produced six Nobel Prize winning scientists since 2000. The university has been awarded with significant government grants related to research and international education, including, in 2014, a Top Global University Project grant. We offer 22 English-taught degree programs at both undergraduate and graduate levels, which are open to exchange students.
