SOPHIA UNIVERSITY

Founded in 1913, Sophia University led the move to internationalization in Japan with its educational philosophy: "Men and Women for Others, with Others." Located at the heart of the global city of Tokyo, Sophia is a lively cosmopolitan community of students, faculty, staff, and alumni. Our 9 undergraduate faculties and 10 graduate schools offer a wide range of programs including English-medium programs in liberal arts, science and technology, global studies, global environmental studies, and TESOL.

NAGOYA UNIVERSITY OF FOREIGN STUDIES

Nagoya University of Foreign Studies (NUFS),established in 1998,is a private university with a student population of approximately 3,500. NUFS is renowned as being one of the most internationalized universities in Japan. Its mission is to cultivate internationally minded students who can play a role in a cross-cultural environment. To ensure this, not only do our courses dovetail language and culture with theory and application, but we provide a range of diversified international programs.

THE UNIVERSITY OF TOKYO

Founded in 1877, the University of Tokyo (UTokyo) is the oldest national university in Japan. It is a comprehensive research university that engages in education and research at the cutting edge of knowledge across the full range of human endeavor.
More than 40 degree programs in English are provided in most of the graduate schools. UTokyo plans to accelerate international collaboration with a variety of prominent universities and institutions.

OCHANOMIZU UNIVERSITY

As the first national women’s university of Japan, Ochanomizu University has produced countless women graduates who have gone on to play active roles in pioneering fields. In promotion of exchanges with overseas students and career development of the students, summer programs in English and Japanese are offered. As part of our university’s globalization strategies, we aim to promote mutual exchanges of students and development of global human resources.

KANSAI UNIVERSITY

Kansai University is one of the largest and most prestigious private universities in western Japan. With 13 faculties, 12 graduate schools, and three professional graduate schools on four campuses located in Osaka, there is no limit to the fields of study and research that can be conducted for the 30,000 KU students. KU offers various programs for international students and provides its students and scholars with study and research abroad programs.

KOBE UNIVERSITY

In keeping with its open cosmopolitan surroundings ever since its foundation in 1902, Kobe University provides education that heightens one’s humanity, creativity, internationality, and expertise and also promotes advanced interdisciplinary research. The university has been actively promoting academic exchanges with educational and research institutions abroad with 249 overseas partner institutions in 53 countries.

KEIO UNIVERSITY

Keio University is a private, comprehensive higher education institution located on six campuses spread across the Greater Tokyo area. It offers an environment of academic and research excellence in a wide range of fields, including a university hospital. Founded in 1858, it is Japan’s first modern institution of higher learning, and in 150 years it has established itself as a leader in Japan through its continued commitment to education, research, and medicine.

KWANSEI GAKUIN UNIVERSITY

Kwansei Gakuin University (KGU) is a comprehensive private university located between Kobe and Osaka, offering bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in more than 35 different disciplines to a student body of more than 24,000, including approximately 700 international students. Founded in 1889, KGU maintains academic standards that rank among the highest of all Japanese universities and colleges, and was selected as member of the 37 Top Global University Project by the Japanese Ministry of Education.

KYORIN UNIVERSITY

Kyorin University, founded in 1966, is a comprehensive university consisting of faculties of Medicine, Health Sciences, Social Sciences, and Foreign Studies. Kyorin University has two campuses with an attached hospital, located in Tokyo where around 5,000 students (undergraduate and graduate level) study in various fields. Kyorin University’s goal is to nurture individuals with an international outlook who can contribute to every area of society through such activities as education, research, and health care.
