PRESENTATION OF IBLV

The Bourguiba Institute of Modern Languages ​​was created by presidential decree in 1962. It is a university institution under the Tunis El Manar University and is under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Research. The Institute provides, throughout the year, language courses for listeners, young or adult, Tunisian or foreign aged 15 years or over. It also organizes intensive Arabic teaching sessions, a foreign language for more than 800 participants each summer, as well as an intensive session in modern languages ​​for Tunisian students.
 
It comprises the following departments: the Department of Arabic and Oriental Languages, the Department of English, the Department of French and the Department of Languages. The languages ​​taught are: German, English, Modern Standard Arabic, Tunisian Arabic, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, French, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese , Russian and Turkish.

Located in the city center, the IBLV has air-conditioned rooms equipped with audio-visual equipment. This equipment also includes:
2 language labs
a multimedia room
classrooms equipped with DVD players, TV sets, video projectors, etc.
a conference room
a library comprising 4500 titles.
The IBLV also has 24 teaching centers spread throughout the Tunisian territory. Currently, the languages ​​taught in some of these centers are: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Russian and Chinese. Any language can be taught provided there are enough listeners.

IBLV teachers are specialized teachers of foreign languages ​​and some textbooks and teaching tools currently used in the Arabic, French and language departments have been developed by an IBLV team.

Language teaching is based on the communicative approach, the competency-based approach and audio-visual methods.

Mission of the Bourguiba Institute of Modern Languages
The Bourguiba Institute of Modern Languages ​​actively participates both at the national and international levels, in the dissemination of foreign languages ​​in the context of continuing education and the promotion of the Arabic language and Arab-Muslim culture. In addition to the regular classes at 47 Liberty Avenue and the various centers, the Bourguiba Institute of Modern Languages ​​also provides training for staff from several organizations in their workplace.

UNIVERSITY MUSTAPHA STAMBOULI OF MASCARA

Mustapha STAMBOULI University stands out for its cultural influence, its scientific capital and its contribution to the development of the Mascara Wilaya. It was founded in 1986, in the form of the National Institute of Higher Education (INES), specialized in the field of Agronomy which has developed at the present time into a University composed of seven (07) faculties, spread over three university centers.

 

This remarkable development has allowed the continuation of the desired growth program, both in terms of necessary land space and in the diversification of the sectors and specialties offered to students, with a view to permanently improving the quality of excellence.

UNIVERSITY OF ORAN1

The University of Oran1 is a classical university where all disciplines coexist: the social sciences and humanities, the arts and languages ​​with the exact sciences, the medical sciences, biology, biotechnology and technology in the classical system. UNIVERSITY ABOU BEKR BELKAID OF TLEMCEN

Created by Decree No. 89-138 of August 1 1989 as amended and supplemented by Executive Decree No. 95-205 of August 5 1995 and amended by Executive Decree No. 98-391 of December 2 1998 the University of Belkaïd Abou Bekr Tlemcen is the result of a long evolution.

Higher education was first provided in a university center that included at the origin (1974-1980) the only core curriculum of Exact Sciences and Biology. This teaching has gradually expanded to new sectors, covering every year, a series of training courses and giving students the opportunity to pursue his entire graduation courses in Tlemcen. In addition to the establishment, often in difficult conditions of university in Tlemcen, the former University Centre can count to its credit the release of the first promotions in Social and Human Sciences and in language.

The establishment, in August 1984, the new university map and thus the creation of national institutes of higher education will first consequence of allowing in one hand, certain sectors of fact confined to mere departments to acquire the status of real institutions, on the other hand to new sectors to emerge.

This stageis also characterized bythe creationof alevel 5 of education (University Applied Studies Degree: D.E.U.A) and the development of the firstpost-graduationinalmost allsectorsinsuredin Tlemcen,finally by thelaunch of the secondpost graduationfrom1991-1992.

It was at the end of fifteen years of gestation that appears the University of Abou Bekr Belkaïd, a new entity, rich in this long period of maturation and open to new challenges.
The university has 8 faculties today. located on 5 university poles that are Imama pole Chetouane pole Kiffane pole, pole ring road also called the new pole and the pole Miloud barracks, to which adds Annex Maghnia.

ALEXANDRIA UNIVERSITY

Founded 1942 as State University, incorporating former branches of the Faculties of Arts, Law, and Engineering of Fouad I University (Cairo), and known as Farouk University until 1953. Faculty of Medicine and Colleges of Education at Tanta detached 1972 to form new University.

BENI SUEF UNIVERSITY

Founded 1983 as Beni-Suef Branch of Cairo University. Acquired present status and title 2005.

ASOCIACION DE HISPANISTAS EGIPCIOS

In 1968, at the request of the then Cultural Counselor of the Embassy of Spain in Cairo, Mr. Ángel Ballesteros, the Association of Hispanists of Egypt was created. Then it consisted of about 15 members all students of Spanish and some already had doctorate in Spain. The President was Dr. Mahmud Ali Makki but given the situation of the majority of the members occupied with their studies, few activities were carried out. In 1999 and due to changes in the statutes of the NGOs in Egypt, and since the Association is one more for the Egyptian Government, they were forced to normalize their situation to be able to work.
Once normalization was completed, there were new elections to elect the new administration that has 9 members, two of them Spanish, as well as the election of the new President that turned out to be Dr. NAGWA GAMAL MEHREZ who has been reelected again in 2007 after having gone through another readjustment to the new norms of The Egyptian State … Today the Association has approximately 90 faculty members from the four State Universities of the Country: Ein-Shams, Cairo, AL Azhar, Helwan and El Minia. In 2008, the professors who teach Spanish language classes in the schools adhered.
The Association has three committees: Executive, scientific and social administration. The field of work: Literature, Linguistics and Translation, Organization of conferences with the collaboration of the Cervantes Institute of Cairo, as well as congresses.
One of the main objectives of the Association is to strengthen relations with the Embassy and the Universities of Spain. For this reason, four agreements have been signed with the Universities of; Granada, De La Mancha and Alcalá de Henares, thus getting an exchange of teachers and students to study in both countries and get to know each other better.

CAIRO UNIVERSITY

The national university, since its emergence until being converted to a government university, managed to provide suitable atmosphere to academic education and achieve scientific and cultural communication between itself and high schools. Therefore, students of high schools joined the university as well as their theoretical study at their schools. Prominent teachers of Dar El-ulum and El-Azhar were mandated to teach at the university. The university also got assistance from scientific competencies of men of law and justice from outside high schools.
Free study system helped in achieving scientific and cultural communication through providing chance of listening to lectures in any sort of knowledge. Therefore, halls of lectures were crowded with students who came to get further knowledge without aspiration to get scientific degree. The university’s library also played an important role in achieving this communication. At the first phase, the university established rigorous rules of secular, rational knowledge; this was shown in Saad Zaghloul’s criticism of Ahmed Zaky’s sermon, in which he exaggerated in talking about Islam’s glory, at the occasion of inaugurating the university, Saad Zaghloul considered that incompatible with the occasion of inaugurating the university which has no religion, but science. A look to the programs of study at the university makes it obvious that the university’s trend is merely secular and that it is committed to instill values of science and scientific thinking among its students and train them on the assets of scientific research and its curricula at the hands of Egyptian and foreign teachers.
This does not mean that the secular attitude of the university was not met by criticism from conservative elements; Egyptian press was full of articles that attacked the university and invited to make the study ((Islamic)), and other articles that questioned the feasibility of this type of education in Egypt, however, the university has been able be careful not to get involved in a clash with the conservative trend which may have cost the university its very existence.
This scientific and cultural communication that the university achieved in the first phase of its lifetime and this accumulation of academic experience made the National Egyptian University a corner stone to establish a government university in 1925.
